At present the job market is very competitive. Majority of people are quite excited after a call for interview and it becomes tough to choose the outfit for the job interview. Wearing the best stuff is the large part of a great impression than your imagination. First impression is the last impression.
For men it is a lot easier to dress up as compared to women. They simply have to choose the suit and tie for a long lasting impression.
However; for women there are diverse clothing choices and find it tough to make a choice. Pant Suit? Skirt Suit? Dress? Shoes? Jewelry? Makeup? Perfume? Stockings.?
Here is a little advice from what I’ve learned over the years:
Pant Suit: For most of the women, it is easy to wear pant suit as you are not required to wear the stockings. Just ensure that your shirt or blouse suits appropriately.
Skirt Suits: This is great attire but you should make sure that you skirt is not too short. It should be knee length to communicate a good impression about your personality.
Tights/Stockings: Make sure that the pattern of the stockings is not distracting. The colors should be very decent.
Shoes: Don’t go for pumps. Instead give a try to a little heel having a decent color.
Jewelry, Makeup, and Perfume: These things should be minimal. Never wear a dark colored eye shade, sharp colored lipstick or too high scent as it tends to distract the interviewer.
